On the 16th of July, Springwood SHS was fortunate to have Kagawa Chuo High School from Japan visit us for the second year in a row. Kagawa Chuo High School is located on the Japanese island of Shikoku, the smallest island and a rural part of Japan. Although students from both schools were initially nervous, excitement took over and they spent the day together learning about their different cultures. Our students took on the role of experts when they taught our visitors about Aussie slang, Aussie animals and Aussie foods. They even participated in an AFL lesson in the morning before some serious international UNO competitions took place in the afternoon. A gift and certificate ceremony ended their day with us. We look forward to welcoming Kagawa Chuo High School back to Springwood SHS next year, as well as catching up with the Kagawa Chuo High School teacher Ms Miwako Kishishita and some of the students when participate in an online lesson with them later in the year.
