Our School is now affiliated with the following district: Southside Sea Eagles District

About Metropolitan East School Sport

  • One of 12 regions coordinating representative school sport across Queensland
  • Open to students from any affiliated school, regardless of system
  • It covers a broad area from the Bay Islands to Logan City (some schools outside these boundaries remain members)

How district sport works

  • Students are first nominated through their school to attend district trials
  • Districts nominate athletes to regional trials, where Metropolitan East teams are selected
  • Students must know their district and trial details to participate

New districts for 2026 (ages 10–19)

  • Central Sharks
  • Mt Gravatt Echidnas
  • Redlands Roos
  • Riverside Rays
  • Southside Sea Eagles

District trials & selection

  • Trials are run by trained volunteer officials
  • Schools must confirm student eligibility, readiness, and skill level
  • Selection panels ensure fair and transparent processes
  • Selection decisions are final and accepted upon nomination
  • All paperwork must be submitted on the day – no paperwork, no trial

What families need to do

  • Nominate through your School Sports Coordinator or HPE Teacher
  • Monitor school communications for sports and trial dates
  • Submit all consent forms on time
  • Ensure students meet eligibility and safety requirements
